Senseonics Launches Eversense Implantable CGM

Senseonics has announced the official US launch of the Eversense CGM as well as its first commercial coverage by Horizon BCBS of New Jersey and Horizon Healthcare of New Jersey. According to the press release, product shipments began the last week of July. Tomorrow, August 8, 2018, Senseonics is holding its Q2 ’18 earnings call and will likely provide more insight into the Eversense launch.

New Novo Ph1 Oral Peptide?

Novo Initiates Ozempic TV DTC

The first Ozempic TV DTC commercial, called “Oh!,” has been observed. Of note, the commercial is set to the tune of the 1975 hit “Magic” by Pilot, likely in an attempt to build upon the success of the jingle from the “Tresiba Ready” DTC campaign. Interestingly, the commercial primarily uses messaging from the SUSTAIN 2 (vs. Januvia) and SUSTAIN 6 (CVOT) studies. Sanofi Q2 ’18 Earnings Update; Pfizer Discontinues Ph1 T1DM Compound

Sanofi and Pfizer hosted their respective Q2 ’18 earnings calls. Sanofi only briefly discussed its diabetes business including continued headwinds for its glargine franchise. Of note, Sanofi has recently updated the name of its efpeglenatide CVOT to “AMPLITUDE-O.” Pfizer did not discuss its Steglatro (ertugliflozin) franchise; however, in the pipeline update, it was noted that PF-06342674 (IL-7 receptor precursor modulator) for the treatment of T1DM has been discontinued.
